This week we have two amazing photos that I took at Makenna and Brian's wedding in May! (I also happened to be suffering from several bruised ribs during this wedding, but that's a story for another day.) These photos made it into my list because, other than being beautiful, they showcased the juxtaposition between the very public celebration of the first kiss and the small intimate moment of Makenna looking over Brian's shoulder.
As for the technical aspects of the photos, I wanted to position the first as perfectly straight as possible to highlight both the solid perfection of the cross and the horizon which in turn drew your eyes to the movement and flow of the curves in her dress as she arched back for the kiss.
In the second, it's all about the eyes, obviously. While setting up the shot, I wanted as much of the photo out of focus as I could get with only those eyes crystal clear and smiling back at me. I then muted the colors in post processing so that they were not a distraction. Though, as you have noticed, I did leave some colors vibrant to draw your attention back to... you guessed it, those eyes.
How do these photo make you feel? Where do your eyes move as you're looking at them? Leave a comment below! And if you're interested in having me photograph your wedding, feel free to click on one of the links at the end! I can't wait to start a conversation with you.
