Over the next few posts, we’d like to highlight some of our favorite wedding venues. The Outer Banks offers many venues with historic and beautiful value. Remember, the OBX is not always about weddings on the sand!
Today, we’re looking at wedding photos from the Whalehead Club. Built in 1920, this club was once a private residence. Now it serves as a representation of the 1920’s and offers a window into Outer Banks maritime history. Where is it? Travel north through Southern Shores and Duck, and then continue down NC-12 almost all the way to the end of the road. The Currituck Heritage Park is on the sound side of the island. Within the park, you find a myriad of great backdrops: the Currituck Lighthouse, the beautiful waterfront, the bridge, the gazebo, and the Whalehead Club itself. Next time you’re in Eastern North Carolina, take a trip to Currituck Heritage Park to check out the Currituck Lighthouse and Whalehead Club. You won’t be disappointed!
